Find your way out of tension and pain.

Are you on a treadmill of pain and struggle?

Have your efforts to get better led to frustration and disappointment?

My approach to healing.

I teach a set of skills, drawn from the Alexander Technique and mindfulness teachings, that can help you to stop struggling against your own body and driving yourself crazy trying to fix it. You’ll learn what your natural posture is and how your body was designed to move free of tension.

I used to dial the phone with my nose.

After developing a nerve condition in my mid-20s, I struggled to hold a pen, type a sentence, and was out of his work for years. I tried, unsuccessfully, to act like I was not afraid and that the pain didn’t bother me. I began to heal – body and mind – when I threw out who I thought I should be and used the upheaval to discover who I really was. My return from illness and pain, and my journey of openness and kindness, is the subject of my forthcoming book, Don’t Get Better. Trained as a meditation and Alexander Technique teacher, I lead workshops, retreats, and private consultations in New York City and the Hudson Valley. I look forward to accompanying you on a path to wellness and wonder.

“Studying the Alexander Technique with Dan has improved my posture and coordination, reduced my anxiety, and eradicated a host of chronic health problems. Best of all, it’s taught me how to show up much more fully for my life and my creative work.”
