Your Body Is Your Practice.

Our body can be a source of joy and confidence, and an instrument for pleasure and connection.  But all too often, we experience it as an achy, chubby, worry and tension-filled burden that we try to manage, ignore, or control in the midst of our busy lives.

In this weekly drop-in class, we will explore what it means to establish a spiritual and mindfulness practice with the body as a central element.  How can we care for our body without trying to micromanage or endlessly perfect it?  How much discomfort is okay? Can we learn to hear our body’s wisdom?

This 45-minute class will tap into the body’s natural relaxation response and develop physical and mental resilience. Dan’s personal experience with chronic pain and illness enables him to help others meet their experiences with curiosity, humor, and compassion.

No experience is necessary. You can participate in this sitting up, lying down, or whatever is comfortable for you. It's appropriate for those who are healthy or ill.

Note to previous participants: Registration for Your Body Is Your Practice will now take place through my Acuity Scheduling software, which will provide you with the Zoom link for the class. If you are experiencing financial hardship and are unable to pay the suggested donation ($10-$15), you can still register for the class. If you are able to, however, this is my main group offering at the moment and I hope you will continue to support my teaching and the practice of others through a fair donation. Thank you for your generosity and your fellowship.

If you wish to register for a single Monday night class, please be sure to click “continue” rather than “recurring” when you select the date:

Once you select the date, you will see the screen below. If you wish to make a donation (of any amount), click the top button “Add a Pay What You Want amount,” or simply click “Complete Appointment.”
